18 July 2023

ALVIC, a leading Spanish company in the manufacture and distribution of panels and components for the kitchen, bathroom, office and home, committed to sustainability and the environment, sponsored, together with other companies, the ABC Forum ‘Defending the future of forests’ led by FSC Spain and the ABC Journal.

During this forum, a round table of experts from the sector was held, where it was highlighted that Spain has a natural surface area of 55% and is the third country in Europe in terms of forest mass. They also clarified that the profitability of forest management and obtaining economic incentives for forest owners is key to the conservation of forests and that they are not reconverted to other uses that can generate greater profits. Forest certification is a tool for further accreditation that strict environmental and social requirements are met, and represents an economic instrument to support forest owners in making their forest products more profitable and accrediting them as sustainable.

In this sense, ALVIC is proud to support the sustainable management of the world’s forests by achieving FSC certification, which indicates that our products come from certified forest stewardship processes, ensuring the protection of forests, people and markets to generate sustainable products today and for future generations.

In parallel, as part of its commitment to the environment, ALVIC is also committed to recycling and the circular economy of materials derived from its activity. Its boards are composed of wood fibre or particles that come from certified forest stewardship processes, as well as recycled material. In addition, its manufacturing process focuses on creating new and improved products that are more resistant to the passage of time and daily use, so as to increase their useful life and, therefore, reduce their environmental impact.
