Alvic at Casa Decor 2026: The warmth of wood as a sanctuary for memories

There are materials that do not merely occupy a space, but create a mood. Places that, the moment we step inside, restore a sense of belonging and a sense of calm. It is from this philosophy that “Between surfaces and words” was born, the Neolith space designed by Personal K at Casa Decor 2026, where ALVIC becomes the thread running through a narrative that unites contemporary design with the emotional heartbeat of the home.

Together with Pilar Alberola and Lucía González-Orús, we wanted to recapture the heart of traditional homes: the library. But not as a static place, rather as a living organism that breathes, welcomes and protects our stories.

The touch of a shared story

In a fast-paced world, luxury is silence and unhurried conversation. Personal K’s proposal is an invitation to pause. In this setting, ALVIC’s wood—represented by the Ondara 02 design—ceases to be a panel and becomes the texture of a memory.

The choice of this walnut with its honest grain and luminous tone is no accident. It is the answer to the search for a warmth that dialogues with stone, that filters the light and provides the serenity needed to read, think and simply be.

“With ALVIC, we sought that natural wood grain; its tone brings clarity and a serene elegance. It is the material that completes the circle of well-being in this living room-library,” the studio explains.

The reversible library: A play of light and shadow

The star of the room is the mobile shelving system developed using ALVIC panels. A design that understands that life has nuances:

  • On the one hand, the orderly chaos of books, objects brought back from travels and the photographs that define us.
  • On the other, absolute visual peace. When rotated, the ALVIC wood takes over the architecture, concealing the outside world to offer us a canvas of calm and continuity.

It is the duality of home: the place where we reveal ourselves and the place where we take refuge.

A tribute to the Barrio de las Letras

Located at the heart of Spanish literature, our space on Calle San Agustín seems to have absorbed the essence of the neighbourhood. The wood of ALVIC’s shelving preserves the words of the writers who once lived on these streets, creating a bridge between the tradition of grand old houses and the versatility of contemporary interior design.

At ALVIC, we understand that our surfaces are much more than just design and technology. They are the stage on which life unfolds. And in this edition of Casa Decor, together with Personal K, we have demonstrated that true innovation is that which is capable of moving us.
